The World Tourism Day (WTD) is celebrated worldwide every year on September 27, a date that was chosen in conjunction with an important milestone for world tourism, the anniversary of the adoption of the World Organization Statute Of Tourism. All the members of the World Tourism Organization celebrate various initiatives this day, which is also an invitation to tour operators, tourists and local communities to responsibly handle cultural heritage to preserve them for future generations. This year the theme is "Sustainable Tourism - a Development Tool".
